Question: Is the one who is delighted at the fall of some of those responsible for spreading corruption in the earth, [1] even though the one who seizes them is from the disbelievers, is this considered to be [a form of] showing allegiance to the disbelievers?

sympathy2

Answer: It is not permissible to sympathize with those who spread corruption in the earth. If the disbelievers seize them, then we know that this is their punishment from Allaah; that Allaah empowered the disbelievers over them as their punishment.

We do not sympathize with those who spread corruption in the earth. This is not deemed to be allegiance to the disbelievers.

Rather, it is said that this is a punishment from Allaah for these proponents of corruption. Allaah empowered over them those that are stronger than them.

And thus will We make some of the wrongdoers allies of others for what they used to earn.” [al-An’aam :129]

Endnotes:

[1]: Look at the punishment Allaah legislated for those who spread corruption in the earth!

The recompense of those who wage war against Allaah and His Messenger and do mischief in the land is only that they shall be killed or crucified or their hands and their feet be cut off on the opposite sides, or be exiled from the land. That is their disgrace in this world, and a great torment is theirs in the Hereafter.” [al-Maa‘idah 5:33]
